Publishing your book with Three Bean Press is as easy as one, two, three.
Step One:
Choose your services and publishing package.
Step Two:
Submit your work for consideration. If we're all on the same page, we'll get to work.
Step Three:
Sign off on the project, and see your book in print.
Want a more detailed synopsis of the process? Here's how it goes:
We'll start with a quick conversation about the type of book you're publishing, collect your exact specifications for printing, and review your manuscript. Then we begin our search for the printer whose work and price best suit your project. Once you select your publishing package, approve the print estimate and sign a contract with us, you will submit your manuscript and artwork. We will then meet with you, in person or over the phone, to discuss your vision for the book. Once we have your ideas, we will create custom designs for your book, from which you will choose the one you like best. Simultaneously, we will be editing your project to make sure it's in its cleanest form. At the end of each edit stage, we will supply you with a list of questions and changes to approve, always keeping you in the loop (unless, for some reason, you'd rather not be!). Behind the scenes, we will be preparing the legal aspects of the book, such as the ISBN and Library of Congress Control Number. Once the book is fully edited, designed and approved by you, it will be sent to the printer, and before you know it, you're a published author!

Design
At Three Bean Press, we pride ourselves on offering a quality, custom look for every book we produce. We don't have a one-size-fits-all philosophy. Our years of experience make it easy for us to hone your ideas and bring them to life. Unsure of your vision? We'll help you dream up a design you'll love.
Editing
We consider your book to be our book, so we're as irked by a typo as you would be. This is why each and every title that comes across our desks is meticulously edited before being sent to the printer.
Project Management/Printing
We know the flow. We'll create a feasible project timeline to get your book in print quickly, without compromising quality. There are lots of pieces to juggle while preparing a book for publication, so we keep all of the players on task. We will also be the liaison to the printer, working to find you the very best quality at the best price while negotiating all of the particular elements unique to your book. At Three Bean Press, we know that every book is distinctive—you'll want to consider the materials, the size, and fun printing options (how about French flaps or deckled edges?) that will make your book a standout in the marketplace. We'll discuss all of your choices with our network of printers to get you an outstanding final product at the lowest price possible.
Sales
At Three Bean Press, we recognize that you are your very best salesperson—after all, you wrote the book, so you're the expert. That's why we make it extremely profitable for you. If you choose to sell your own title, you'll reap 100% of the rewards! And if you want some assistance, we're here to help. Your book will be posted for sale on our website, offered to relevant stores within our network, and will be added to the systems of our distributors. What does that mean for you? Instant access to the national stores. If someone wants to buy your title through Barnes & Noble, for example, the store can order it with ease.
Here's what you have to gain:
- You make a direct sale, you get 100% of the retail price
- You sell your book to a store, you get 100% of the retail price minus the store’s wholesale price
- We sell your book on threebeanpress.com, you get 50% of the retail price
- We sell your book to a store, you get 35-45%* of the retail price (*depending on store terms)
- Our distributors sell your book, you get 38.25% of the retail price

Storage/Fulfillment
We recommend that our authors warehouse some of their books for their own sales and fulfillment.
For sales made through Three Bean Press' website, retailers, and distribution avenues, you can opt to have us warehouse your books, handle the shipping and billing, and cut you a check for your portion of the proceeds at regularly scheduled intervals. This service is an additional fee.
If you elect to sell all of your own books, warehousing and fulfillment are your responsibilities.
Publicity/Marketing
Our packages include starter marketing pieces for your book. These are in the form of postcards and posters designed to catch the eye of the public. Use them to post in stores, send to friends and family, or target the media. The more you personally market your book, the more sales you will see, so get out there and spread the word! Also, our Expanded and Premium packages include a custom-written news release delivered to a targeted list of book reviewers and news outlets that are perfect for your title.
